![]() So i was in my front garden looking at my gorgeous and newly cut hedge when i noticed some dead leaves in there. They were brown and crumpled up and so i decided to clean it up and started picking them out one by one. As i started to clean it up there seemed to be more buried in the hedge deeply - so i thought OK no worries, let me pick them out too. I continued and as per usual now i was in a rush to get to the end of the hedge so my shoulders dropped and i was like 'urgh, hurry up already' - my gorgeous freshly cut hedge started to feel slightly over-bearing - but i still continued because it was somewhat therapeutic too - you know, how you do things and just let your mind relax to whatever and wonder about... As i continued i noticed i missed some bits here and there so i went back to pick them out and then this kind of continued for about a few minutes. I kept missing bits or they were buried deep within. It was at this exact moment i had one of those epiphany/ah-ha/breakthrough moments! I just stopped and allowed it all to sink it for a few moments. I rush to get things done to get to the end of the line - not so i am a winner - but just because i'm in a rush to get things done that i miss out some of life's finer details - those which can seriously benefit me in the long term. ..... DEEP! Have you ever had this happen to you too? We think we have got rid of those negative thoughts, that bad relationship/friendship, disempowering habit and we are starting fresh but we sometimes miss the finer details or we think that once we have made this change then that is it, we won't need to put any more effort into it as magically everything will always be OK from this point. I mean, how many times have we started to pray all of our prayers on time and we feel like a hero only to slowly slip back into that bad routine again? Why? Because we were not consistent with it and we did not stay with it long enough to make sure we continue with it successfully. We also may fall into this trap where we think we got rid of that bad habit or relationship yet fall into a similar type of habit or relationship again? Why? Because we missed out on the finer details of really clearing up the clutter - the clutter which is within us and so the same patterns keep appearing. I was just out enjoying the sun and admiring the freshly cut hedge when Allah wanted me to learn a real big lesson in life! Subhan'Allah! I need to learn to pace myself, i need to learn to be more consistent and i need to learn to work on those habits - if i get rid of something i need to search within and see where i need to work on and heal so i don't create the same habits in other areas and create lasting and positive change insha'Allah. "Verily! In the creation of the heavens and the earth, and in the alternation of night and day, there are indeed signs for men of understanding." [Qur'an; 3:190] Allah is always showing us signs and teaching us lessons through it - are we ready to learn and answer His call? I hope this helped in your journey right now. We need to admit our mistake or weakness, learn from it and strive real hard to achieve the positive change......but for sure, get Allah swt involved..InshaAllah, success will be ours.

I agree....sometimes we want a part of our lives to just hurry it up, okay I've just left a bad job, let's hurry it up and get me a new one, we dont let ourselves take the time to feel- to actually FEEL why we left in the first place, this robotic lack of feeling-hurry it up mode is what makes us less aware of what we really want in life.....let's bloody feel people
